YEU Response to Sinabung Erruption

On Sunday, 29 August 2010; Mount Sinabung in Karo district, North Sumatra erupted and forced more than 27.000 people to flee from their houses.

HAP (Humanitarian Accountability Partnership) Workshop, attended by 23 staffs from YEU Lhokseumawe, YEU Padang, and YEU Yogyakarta and facilitated by Janaki Kuhanendran (Christian Aid), introduces humanitarian accountability system to YEU's staffs to meet capacity and accountability standardization.

Response to Jakarta Floods
YEU was mainly working on health service through mobile clinic. Besides conducting medical care for 4.936 patients, YEU was providing acupressure treatment for 167 people and supplementary feeding for under-five children, expectant and nursing mother in the form of biscuit and milk. We distributed clean and drinkable water to flood affected community. YEU held medical first aid training for GKJ Tangerang to enable them to do first aid after being trained in case of minor emergency. YEU was facilitating local church (GKJ Tangerang and its network) and community representatives from Kapuk village to a disaster management and preparedness introduction training.
