YEU Response to Sinabung Erruption

On Sunday, 29 August 2010; Mount Sinabung in Karo district, North Sumatra erupted and forced more than 27.000 people to flee from their houses.

HAP (Humanitarian Accountability Partnership) Workshop, attended by 23 staffs from YEU Lhokseumawe, YEU Padang, and YEU Yogyakarta and facilitated by Janaki Kuhanendran (Christian Aid), introduces humanitarian accountability system to YEU's staffs to meet capacity and accountability standardization.

Tamiang Flood
YEU gives medical services in all of the assisted areas in Tamiang; with total number patients served 1491 patients, with the most common diseases are URTI (Upper Respiratory Tract Infection), skin diseases, dyspepsia, musculoskeletal disease, myalgia and vulnus (wound). The number of children and expectants that are being served with supplementary feeding are 63 expectants and 1099 under five children. YEU also conducted psychosocial program integrated with the health care activity.
